It's been, well, boring lately. Just work and stuff. This weekend I'll be going Trick-or-Treating with the family so I'm sure I'll have cute pictures.

Until then - we had a rainbow.

Bingo looks cute!

And I made Chili

I will post the recipe tomorrow.

People.

Sometimes your knight in shining armor is just an asshole in tin foil. The measure of a person is not based upon the words that they speak, but upon the choices that they make.
If they keep stabbing you in the back, then quit handing them the knife.

Book Review

Stolen Innocence: My Story of Growing Up in a Polygamous Sect, Becoming a Teenage Bride, and Breaking Free of Warren Jeffs by Elissa Wall

My friend gave me this book and it was definitely interesting. Her story is sad, funny, and memorable. It has a very conversational feel, while reading you could almost picture her sitting with you telling the story. There are some minor descriptions of rape/abuse but it's very brief and not at all graphic. But definitely has adult material and themes throughout.

She begins as a very young child and tells the story of her life growing up in a fundamentalist sect of the Church of Latter Day Saints. It gives you an interesting peek into a world often veiled from outsiders and the story is not all negative. You really get a feel for the strong family ties she and her siblings forge despite being one of fourteen children. Without giving away too much, the book ends on a positive note which is refreshing.

Overall I give the book a B+. It held my interest from the beginning and I read it quickly because I wanted to see the end.
